Very sketchy match, our team want prepared at all, and the other team spawn camped and I suspect them of using custom skins. | |

Hello everyone. I just want to make some general comments in regards to last nights infamous clash with IMICP-Elite. It was a match with its fair share of problems, problems that later ended up in both teams being awarded penalty points for miscellaneous reasons. Seeing as this was my first game ever with you guys, as a new (trail) member with the clan, and also playing an ESL League game, I wasn't too sure what to expect, and tried to meet with a clean slate. You all know me quite well from the T.O.B servers, and most of you know my personality The first thing that struck me, was how badly organized the match was. I had seen some messages fly back and forth on the ESL site, where we seemed to be in mutual agreement as then when the match was to be played. I was under the impression that a server was already booked for the match, and that the administrative issues were sorted before the game even started. The first problem occurred when we wanted to have two new members on the line up for the match, which the IMICP refused. We tried to the best of our ability to sort out players for the game, but it proved hard seeing as sickness, travels and otherwise pressing personal issues kept some of the clan members to make it to the game. There was a general consensus from both our team and IMICP that the match was to be played, and things were set in motion to make it happen. We managed to pull a few strings, and got Clan Germany | nenti to borrow us one of their servers, and granted us temporary admin rights to it. This was something that was so at the spur of the moment, that both teams realised that we really didn't have anyone with experience in administrating a game like this. Personally, I have heaps of normal game play administration experience, but never from clan war matches. But being a person that likes a challenge, and I did my best to figure out how this was done in the short time I had at my disposal. We again approached IMICP and asked them if we could front two new players for the match to be able to meet the required amount of a 5 person team. At first, they were very reluctant but after a lot of bargaining we were able to talk them into it, in the terms that we were to be deducted one (1) point per "illegal" person attending in the game, making a total of two (2) points penalised. The main reason we had to use one of Clan Germany's servers, was the fact that IMICP was unable to use our Train and War server, which we suggested using, seeing as IMICP was unable to provide the match with a server. It then turned out that they were unable to connect to that server, for reasons that we learnt was because they apparently had some custom skins installed. As we all know, all the T.O.B servers uses the server flag sv_pure, which is a server side protection against cheaters, using custom materials etc. We then instructed IMICP to delete any such custom content to successfully connect to our servers. They spent quite a bit of time, seemingly trying to do this, but their efforts failed and they still complained that they could not connect. At this point, it was decided that the match was to go ahead as planned, although delayed by a hefty 150 minutes. Both teams at this point just wanted to get it over and done with, and the game was started. The first round went pretty normal, with fierce battles and good sportsmanship from both teams. But things went bad in the second round. On a couple of occasions, IMICP deliberately camped outside the US spawn, cutting us down like trees with a chainsaw as we moved out of our spawn to get to objective ALPHA. We made an attempt to express our dismay over their action, but they were brutally dismissed with laughs and an unwillingness to relate. These two camping incidents was also a direct cause to our loss in this round. The ESL rules talk of the so called "3 second rule", but in all fairness, any camping outside a spawn is just poor sportsmanship. Any sane server administrator punish this sort of behaviour on normal public servers, and seasoned players loathe such activity. That we see this in an ESL League match is nothing but a disgrace, and ruins the game completely. Adding to injury, remarks made on the match page on ESL, that were totally uncalled for. As a team, we know that we will from time to time lose, and it's nothing we like, but it's a part of life and a part of the game. No team can expect to win everything, and we are no sore losers. If we are beaten fair and square, we have no problem admitting to defeat. But we have a hard time accepting a defeat to a team that shows such bad sportsmanship and lack of respect for us as a team and human beings. This league is supposed to be a friendly league, not a league where teams run around insulting one another and acting childish and immature, and I find it sad that a team such as IMICP had the chance to ruin a perfectly good match night, and something that should have been nothing but sheer fun. I'm personally disgusted by what has happened, and hope that IMICP has the reason within themselves to realise their errors in this matter. Yours sincerely Jostein Elvaker Haande - aka tolecnal |

it's very nice to come home from a vacation and see all this mess, except Josteins tidy report I must say,.. well... I dont know what to say,..but im stunned by things i read on the ESL page and how a fu***n game can be taken so seriously, as it was real life. TAG has a bad reputation in the french community and this has infected this match, for sure.
